Now, parents can take the concept of an allowance into the 21st century-with the Allow Card. The Allow Card is a Prepaid MasterCard designed for students and their parents. It's a new way to pay, and it's changing the relationship between children and parents, building a strong foundation of trust, understanding, financial freedom and responsibility.
The Allow Card is not a credit card. It's a prepaid card designed for students of all ages, so they can use their allowance to make purchases at school, area malls and local businesses or anywhere else prepaid MasterCard is accepted. As a parent, you'll be glad to know the Allow Card is actually better than a credit card: kids can't spend more than the amount loaded on the card. You won't have to worry about overdraft fees, interest rates or late fees. You set the spending limits while still giving your child the power to manage their money. In fact, Allow Card features more than 35 parental controls so you can feel confident about where your children spend their allowance.
The Allow Card is a part of an innovative program that uses interactive, online tools to teach fiscal responsibility to your child. These online lessons introduce children to important money management skills - establishing a pattern of responsibility they will take with them on life's journey. Once you sign your child up for an Allow Card account, your child can then log on to begin accessing a series of monthly lessons that foster financial skills.
A one-time activation fee of $20.00 will cover the application process, identity verification, account set-up, card issuance and shipping. After that, there is a monthly access fee of $3.50 per account – a small price to pay for 24-hour access, no overdraft fees and the convenience of providing children with a secured allowance and the ability to learn life long lessons.
