The Hawaiian Airlines® Visa® Platinum card, issued by Bank of America, N.A. (USA), is designed for those with a very good credit history who travel frequently via Hawaiian Airlines®.
Through the airline reward program, one mile is earned for every dollar spent on the card for general purchases, two miles are earned for every dollar spent for tickets purchased directly from Hawaiian Airlines®, and additional miles can be earned at HawaiianMiles supercharged merchants. Miles can be redeemed towards free travel on Hawaiian Airlines®. Cardholders receive 10,000 bonus miles with the first purchase and payment as well as an additional reward of 5,000 points awarded annually upon card renewal. There is a limit of 100,000 miles that can be earned per year.
The interest rate for purchases and balance transfers is reasonable for a reward card, although not ideal for those who plan to carry a balance. A low introductory rate applies to purchases and balance transfers for the first six billing cycles, and the annual fee is slightly lower than most platinum airline reward cards.
Aside from the reward program, cardholders can expect common benefits offered by Bank of America, N.A. (USA), such as up to $1,000,000 in travel accident insurance, total security protection, and zero liability on Internet purchases. In addition, cardholders receive a 50% discounted companion ticket with the purchase of a regular full-coach fare ticket plus applicable taxes, fees, and surcharges.
Therefore, those who plan to pay in full each month (to avoid finance charges) and will use the card frequently for Hawaiian Airlines® ticket purchases (to earn additional points) will benefit most from what the Hawaiian Airlines® Visa® Platinum card has to offer.
